Dans cette vie d&rsquo;ermite, je n&rsquo;ai pas du tout agi comme une bonne femme des cavernes pendant que mon homme partait &agrave; la chasse. Je n&rsquo;ai pr&eacute;par&eacute; aucune nourriture gourmande. Aucune nourriture pour l&rsquo;&acirc;me. Rien. Nada. Niet. De la folie, en effet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les minutes, les jours, les mois ont disparu sous mon nez et avant que je ne m&rsquo;en aper&ccedil;oive, apr&egrave;s de longs mois froids et ardus, le soleil brillait g&eacute;n&eacute;reusement dans le ciel, la chaleur s&rsquo;exhibait enfin et mon anniversaire de naissance s&rsquo;en venait sournoisement, sur la pointe des pieds, derri&egrave;re mon dos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et donc pour &eacute;terniser cette prise, j&rsquo;ai organis&eacute; une soir&eacute;e entre amies, une soir&eacute;e qui me permettrait de sortir de mon trou, d&rsquo;afficher cette petite b&ecirc;te sur la place publique, et de, franchement, remplir une page de mon calendrier social qui b&acirc;illait depuis d&eacute;j&agrave; bien trop longtemps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un repas-partage &eacute;tait donc prescrit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-et-ma-table-manger-tait-magnifiquement-garnie\">Et ma table &agrave; manger &eacute;tait magnifiquement garnie.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Il y avait un festin de plats omnivores et v&eacute;ganes, dont mes petits poivrons r&ocirc;tis et mes &laquo; croquettes &raquo; au chou-fleur accompagn&eacute;s d&rsquo;un &laquo; yogourt &raquo; au citron vert et plus encore. Pourquoi ces guillemets, tu demandes ? Tu verras plus tard que ces deux-l&agrave; auront des allures d&eacute;licieusement trompeuses, elles seront de faux-semblants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La soir&eacute;e a d&eacute;but&eacute; tranquillement avec l&rsquo;arriv&eacute;e de Manue, rayonnante, avec une bouteille de ros&eacute;, Le Pive Gris, et un sac en papier brun contenant des&nbsp;<em>tiropitas<\/em>&nbsp;dans les bras (un friand grec au fromage ; les miens &eacute;taient v&eacute;ganes). Au d&eacute;part, seuls les poivrons rouges et jaunes &mdash; r&ocirc;tis une heure plus t&ocirc;t au four lentement dans de l&rsquo;huile de tournesol, puis arros&eacute;s de vinaigre de vin rouge &mdash; et un bol de croustilles reposaient sur la table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et ils leur tardaient de s&rsquo;entourer d&rsquo;autres compagnons savoureux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J&rsquo;ai h&acirc;tivement ouvert le sac partiellement nimb&eacute; d&rsquo;aur&eacute;oles graisseuses et ai gliss&eacute; les tiropitas au four sur une plaque de cuisson pour les r&eacute;chauffer. Nous nous sommes vers&eacute; rapidement un verre de vin et nous l&rsquo;avons sirot&eacute; sur mon balcon arri&egrave;re, long et &eacute;troit et enjoliv&eacute; d&rsquo;un gard&eacute;nia en pot distillant un parfum suave, de p&eacute;tunias rouges et blancs &agrave; peine odorants et de mon bougainvillier aux p&eacute;tales rose &eacute;carlate &mdash; assur&eacute;ment le point focal. Ce dernier &eacute;tait hautement perch&eacute; et avait &eacute;t&eacute; achet&eacute; le jour m&ecirc;me pour l&rsquo;occasion (je les adore, merci M. L&rsquo;Homme !) Apr&egrave;s quelques semaines &mdash; non, plut&ocirc;t apr&egrave;s un an ou deux &mdash; de travail sur la d&eacute;co de mon balcon, j&rsquo;&eacute;tais fi&egrave;re d&rsquo;avoir enfin cr&eacute;&eacute; quelque chose d&rsquo;idyllique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les autres convives ont suivi. Ma voisine Valentina, grande et svelte, est arriv&eacute;e discr&egrave;tement avec une carte-cadeau &agrave; d&eacute;penser dans ma librairie favorite ; Malak, montrant ses belles jambes bien toniques, avec un plateau de fromages (du bleu, du gouda et du brie double cr&egrave;me) et de raisins rouges ; Julia, une brunette anim&eacute;e, avec trois plats du&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.indiarosa.com\/\">restaurant India Rosa<\/a>&nbsp;: des papadums (galettes tr&egrave;s minces de farine de haricots frits incrust&eacute;es de graines de cumin), des champignons tandoori et une pizza v&eacute;g&eacute;talienne sur pain naan ; Blondine, rappelant selon Valentina un air &agrave; la Jennifer Lawrence, avec des sacs de croustilles, une sauce salsa et un guacamole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peu de temps apr&egrave;s, Fudji est arriv&eacute;e couronn&eacute;e de son chapeau noir style trilby avec un plateau de prosciutto et un cadeau que j&rsquo;ai d&eacute;ball&eacute; instantan&eacute;ment, de mignons petits bijoux en argent. Aussit&ocirc;t arriv&eacute;e, Fudji, toujours aussi g&eacute;n&eacute;reuse de son temps et de son &eacute;nergie, m&rsquo;a donn&eacute; un coup de main dans la cuisine pour s&rsquo;atteler &agrave; la friture de ma p&acirc;te de chou-fleur dans l&rsquo;huile chaude. La recette comportait des &oelig;ufs (dans la p&acirc;te) et du yogourt laitier (dans le yogourt, &eacute;videmment). J&rsquo;avais d&eacute;j&agrave; devin&eacute; que j&rsquo;allais remplacer les &oelig;ufs par des graines de lin et le yogourt laitier par une sorte de cr&egrave;me de noix cajou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oui, je savais ce que j&rsquo;allais faire en th&eacute;orie, mais je savais aussi que, en pratique, les choses avaient de fortes chances de ne pas rouler sur des roulettes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En effet, Dieu sait qu&rsquo;<strong>il faut toujours utiliser des recettes test&eacute;es et &eacute;prouv&eacute;es pour les grandes occasions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had already experienced failures, and I would&rsquo;ve been stupid to re-experience them. Um yes. This was not the time to experiment. However, my friend, there&rsquo;s something you need to know: I like living dangerously. And sometimes, I'm stupid. Elle est arriv&eacute;e avec un air endormi, mais qui ne durera pas tr&egrave;s longtemps (tu verras pourquoi plus loin), et avec des feuillet&eacute;s en triangle au fromage f&eacute;ta et ricotta ainsi qu&rsquo;aux &eacute;pinards et au fromage f&eacute;ta. Tant pis, me suis-je dit. Je les ai empil&eacute;s dans une assiette, les ai assaisonn&eacute;s de sel et de poivre et les ai parsem&eacute;s de persil. Puis, je les ai pos&eacute;s nonchalamment sur la table &agrave; c&ocirc;t&eacute; des autres plats invit&eacute;s, parmi lesquels se trouvaient les plats tout juste sortis du four.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-nous-tions-maintenant-pr-tes-commencer-le-carnage\">Nous &eacute;tions maintenant pr&ecirc;tes &agrave; commencer le carnage.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>J&rsquo;ai appel&eacute; les filles, et nous nous sommes attabl&eacute;es en admirant le spectacle. Il y avait des oh et des ah. Je jubilais de joie. &Ccedil;a faisait des lustres que ma table n&rsquo;avait pas &eacute;tait si activement dress&eacute;e. Nous sommes attaqu&eacute;s aux plats et avons gratt&eacute; nos assiettes avec all&eacute;gresse, discutant entre deux bouch&eacute;es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Je me suis particuli&egrave;rement pourl&eacute;ch&eacute; les babines avec la pizza v&eacute;g&eacute; sur pain Naan. Sa cro&ucirc;te &eacute;tait mince mais croustillante, souple mais robuste, l&eacute;g&egrave;re mais charnue. Le go&ucirc;t des &eacute;pices indiennes &eacute;taient rond et leurs saveurs remontaient avec tendresse jusque dans les narines. Elles &eacute;taient d&rsquo;une l&eacute;g&egrave;ret&eacute; admirable, d&rsquo;une mollesse impeccable, d&rsquo;un parfum &eacute;pic&eacute; agr&eacute;able. La sauce accompagnante &eacute;tait le parfait complice pour rafra&icirc;chir le palais et calmer la danse des &eacute;pices qui s'agitaient dans ma bouche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C&rsquo;&eacute;tait fabuleux. J&rsquo;ai fait tomber par inadvertance une goutte de substance grasse sur mon nouveau haut, cadeau re&ccedil;u de mon travail &mdash; oh la la, mais j&rsquo;ai pr&eacute;f&eacute;r&eacute; &ccedil;a &agrave; une grosse goutte de bave (quoique &ccedil;a aurait &eacute;t&eacute; d&eacute;monstratif de mon adoration pour ces d&eacute;lices). J&rsquo;ai vite ignor&eacute; la chose et me suis concentr&eacute;e sur mes bouch&eacute;es suivantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mis &agrave; part cette maladresse, l&rsquo;opinion &eacute;tait unanime par rapport &agrave; mes beignets &mdash; c&rsquo;est le nom que tout le monde leur a naturellement donn&eacute;. Tout &ccedil;a avait d&ucirc; trop nous exciter, en effet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peut-&ecirc;tre, mais nous avions de bonnes raisons de l&rsquo;&ecirc;tre. Et moi, davantage. go&ucirc;t de noisette plus pr&eacute;sent qu&rsquo;&agrave; l&rsquo;origine, je pense que ma version de croquettes, maintenant renomm&eacute;es beignets, est tout aussi addictive. Des graines de chia auraient s&ucirc;rement pu faire l&rsquo;affaire et agir plus l&eacute;g&egrave;rement en arri&egrave;re-sc&egrave;ne. Le yogourt de noix de cajou est l&rsquo;une de mes cr&eacute;ations ; elle est d&eacute;riv&eacute;e d&rsquo;une de mes recettes de cr&egrave;me s&ucirc;re crue. Ces beignets peuvent &ecirc;tre d&eacute;gust&eacute;s chauds ou ti&egrave;des, tout seuls ou dans un pain pita &mdash; avec le yogourt v&eacute;g&eacute;tal, bien s&ucirc;r. Ils sont parfaits pour les pique-niques d&rsquo;&eacute;t&eacute; ou pour les bo&icirc;tes lunchs (ajoutes-y des tomates pour accentuer la fra&icirc;cheur). Les adultes comme les enfants en raffoleront.
